Covid-19 has made us all realize that the most important aspect of one's life is their health. Let's introduce you to Giloy, which is a rejuvenating herb for the body. Its scientific name is Tinospora Cordifolia and also known as Guduchi. In Sanskrit, Giloy is known as "Amrita", which means "The Root of Immortality". Giloy plants are native to India, Srilanka, and Myanmar. Giloy plant is basically a climber with weak succulent stems. The stem is whitish to grey in shade and it can grow to a thickness of 1-5 cm. Leaves of Giloy are heart-shaped and membranous (thin). It bears greenish-yellow flowers during summer months while the fruits of Giloy plants are more commonly seen in winters. Giloy fruits are greenish drupes which become red on maturity. Most of the medicinal benefits of Giloy are present in its stem, but the leaves, fruit, and roots are also used to a minor extent.

How to Use:

Add 1 inch of Giloy stem in 1 glass of water boil it 2-3 minutes and drink it on an empty stomach in the morning once a day.
Note: There are no serious side-effects of consuming Giloy since it is a natural and safe herbal remedy. However, in some cases - the use of Giloy can cause lower blood sugar levels. So if you are diabetic and have been consuming Giloy on a long-term basis, monitor your blood sugar levels regularly. Also, avoid Giloy if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
